Del-York Creative Academy 2019, a session of the institute accredited by the National board for Technical Education (NBTE), and focused on building capacity in the films and television industry, has recieved the complement of faculty members for the most anticipated training session.

The session which runs from May 10 till June 10, 2019 has over 200 students enrolled on courses ranging from Broadcast Journalism, Screen Writing and Theatre to the more technical aspects of film production such as Drone Operation, Directing, Sound Design, Cinematography, 3D Animation and Colour Grading. Amongst the teaching faculty are Grant Housley, a producer and director, known for One Dark Night (2018), Going for Broke(2009) and The Angel of St. Catherine’s Academy (2017); Melissa Lahti a Production Designer and Set Decorator she is known for her work in Smosh (2017-2018), You Posted That? (2017) and Kat Loves LA, an ongoing comedy.

Others are are Ivan Torres (Drones), acting veteran John Richardson (Acting), Gladys Ramirez (Makeup and Effects) and Daryl Gilmore known for his work on Battleship (2012), Lost (2004) and Painkiller Ghosts. He will be teaching Cinematography and Set Lighting.

Addressing the students, the convener of the programme, Linus Idahosa, hopes that this season will produce creative champions in the film and television insustry who will tell the African story.
