Netflix removes a variety of movies and shows without alerting its users each month. However, the removal of Living in Bondage: Breaking Free, the sequel of the classic 1992 Nollywood movie directed by Ramsey Nouah came to its fans as a rude shock. The 10 million naira movie had a whooping box-office success of 168 million with mostly positive reviews and ranked 11th overall on the list of highest-grossing Nigerian films of all time at the end of its theatrical run. Living in Bondage was listed on Netflix in May 2020 and removed in May 2022. The movie was originally released on November 8th 2019.
Films and TV series hidden within the streaming service’s library are taken down almost daily. You’d be mistaken for not knowing this in advance because Netflix only flagging this if you happen to select the title.
Another movie recently delisted on Netflix is Dolapo is Fine, a 2020 movie co-produced by Chibundu Onuzo.
