Edubox, a tech startup by the duo of Olalekan Ademola Adeeko and Ayodele Azeez Odeogbola, has emerged the winner of Union Bank’s Edtech Challenge 2019. The idea that leverages on delivering open sourced learning contents to underserved students without the bottleneck of internet access wins the admiration of the judges in this year’s edition.
Utiva, a career outsourcing app for young graduates and Expo, an exam preparatory solution emerged second and third respectively in the contest.
The edTech Challenge is the third edition of the annual Innovation Challenge series and aims to discover, showcase and support innovative, cutting-edge technologies with the potential to transform Nigeria’s education system. The bank hopes to reinforce its “commitment to innovation and education, underpinning its dedication to enabling success in Nigeria” with the programme.

The winner of the challenge goes home with a 2.5 million naira prize and an opportunity to be a part of an accelerator programme providing them with access to coach-mentors, and a community of education stakeholders and strategic partnerships. The 2nd and 3rd place winners recieve the sum of 1.5 million and 1 million naira respectively.
